Welcome to St. William
Welcome to St. William
by The Rev. Patrick Stewart
Here at St. William we have services and activities for all who love God and His Son, as well as information and help for those who have yet to meet God, His Son, His Mother and His Holy Spirit. If you would like to join us on this journey, feel free to check out schedule and join us some Sunday or Saturday, or even at a daily mass. This web site is where we list our activities and our mass schedule, and, of course, we welcome you to all our services and activities. If you are not a Catholic, I hope our site will help you to understand our faith. And if you hope to become a Catholic, I hope you will contact us about the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Our parish is made up of many people with varied interests and backgrounds. I feel sure you will find it a pleasing place to worship and learn of Jesus, his Father, Mother and His Holy Spirit. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Our church was founded in 1905 as St. Andrew Church and was under the supervision of the Benedictine Fathers of St. Bernard Abbey in Cullman, Alabama, until 1949 when the Parish of St. Andrew was established. It included all of Laurel and Clay counties. St. Sylvester at East Bernstadt had already been established in 1888 and St. Anne in Manchester was to be established and made a parish of its own in 1952. Priests of the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity served as pastors until the parish was able to support diocesan priests in 1984. Here, at our web site, you can learn more about our parish such as our Mass times, Staff Directory and Phone Numbers, and view an online Map with driving directions. You can even stay informed about our Diocese by reading regularly published information, announcements, and news articles. We hope you enjoy your visit, and encourage you to bookmark this page and add to your favorites folder for easy future reference.
